The track was rated a Heavy 10, which is as low (or bad) as a track can be rated. Five horses were scratched due to the conditions and Michael Kent considered doing the same, but could not find an appropriate alternative in the near future. Starting from barrier 1 and given track conditions, it was decided to drop back behind the main group after the start and attempt to attack from 3-4 wide. Michelle rode him perfectly to plan but once he was behind the main group, having mud continually thrown in his face, he decided he did not want a bar of it. Michelle tried to get him going but he was simply not interested. He finished second last in a race we would best forget.

On Sunday 9th November, Likeadelago was scratched at the barrier at the start of the Sky Football Club Maiden Plate at Cranbourne (Race 2, 1200m). After waiting some in the barriers, Likeadelago reared and through jockey Michelle Payne off.

At 1000m and with a track rated a Heavy 9, it was not the ideal race for Likeadelago, but we really needed a race for him to see where he is at. The wait in the barriers was again long. As the race was about to start, Likeadleago AGAIN started to act up in the barrier. Two guys were working very hard to keep him from rearing and kept he still long enough for the race to start. He missed the start and almost immediately 2 lengths last. However he fought his way back with a fast finishing 4th. Besides the start, it was an impressive run.

Likeadelago was 2nd last into the barrier and behaved himself this time. Jumped well and settled towards the rear of the field. Made his move at the bottom of the straight and looked a real chance with a hundred metres to go, but didn't quite finish it off. Although he finished 4th, he was beaten by only 1.25 lengths behind a blanket finish for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Likeadelago jumped OK but was quickly beaten for pace and dropped towards the rear of the field. He was ridden wide to ensure he did not get boxed in and began to make his move at the 600m. On the turn he was 3 wide and well in touch. At the start of the straight he lost a little ground as he stablilised and straightened, but strengthened and went on to finish a strong finishing third.

Likeadelago missed the start (again) and was 3-4 lengths behind immediately. Jason got him into 4th on the inside by 100 metres which was impressive. In the straight Likeladelago was a little messy and gangly, changing stride at least 3 times. Looked like the Lee Freedman trained I Love Rubies had his measure, but Likeadelago strengthened in the last 200 metres and he won by 3/4 lengths.

Likeadelago was well behaved in the barrier and jumped well. He found himself in the middle of the pack following the eventual leader for most of the initial stages of the race. But he was never travelling well, off the bit from the 1000m mark. In the straight, he ran wide and showed none of his usual finishing pace, finishing 6th, behind the front group of horses.

Likeadelago started well out of the barrier and found himself near the front and out wide early. Jockey Ibrahim Gundogdu decided to take the lead so as to get in close to the rail as per Michael's instructions. He was travelling well, but lost his way on the bend with the soft ground underneath. Never regained stride and finished a disappointing 6th.

Starting from barrier 2, Likeadelago got off to a good start and settled into 3rd on the rail. Unable to get outside as planned, he hugged the rail in 3rd to 4th for most of the race. On the turn the race started to heat up and runners started to attack from the outside. Likeadelago got blocked a few times and was unable to really stride out, but hit the line strongly. First 3 placings came from wider than centre of the straight.

Likeadelago jumped well and worked hard to get the lead. He sat on the rail, in the lead for most of the race with quite a nifty pace for most of the journey. In the straight, it looked as though Encosta Rica had him covered, but a 2nd place was on the cards as he continued to hang on. In the last 20 metres, a blanket of horses swamped past, led by Bel Estar, beating Likeadelago to 6th by just 1.8L

Likeadelago got away OK, dropping back to the rear of the main pack, 4th last. As they turned into the straight, Brent found a gap and muscled his way into the running. Clobbered a few times at the start of the straight, Likeadelago stayed on track, got into stride and came home STRONG, falling just short in 3rd place by 1/2 lengths.
